Yoga Instructors:
Mary Pollock
Mary is the owner of Big Bend Yoga Studio.  She began practicing Iyengar yoga in 1985, studying with senior Iyengar yoga teachers such as Manouso Manos, Ramanand Patel and George Purvis, both here and abroad.

Mary is registered in massage therapy and offers massage therapy and reflexology at Purple Cactus Massage.

Cheryl Eakens
Cheryl developed an interest in yoga in 2001 while exploring options for bringing balance into her life. She began practicing with Mallory Leitner, then with Mary Pollock. She attended the Living Yoga Program Teacher Training Intensive in 2005 and presently teaches classes at Big Bend Yoga Studio.

Cheryl’s vision is “I am a joyful, caring, compassionate soul with an adamantine core.”

Jesse Moore
Jesse has studied yoga asana since 1999, and has become one inch taller since that time. She has exclusively practiced Iyengar yoga since 2000 when she began classes at the Houston Iyengar Yoga Studio with Constance Braden and Shaw-Jiun Wang. Jesse began her teaching path in 2003 at the Albuquerque Zen Center, and is now working toward her Iyengar teaching certification, a multi-year process. She studies with senior IY teachers as often as possible to refine her methods of teaching as well as her own practice. Jesse’s primary teaching focus is correct alignment, and the poses are taught with props or supports, in order to (1) avoid injury and pain, and (2) to allow students of all levels to feel the multi-layered benefits of a correctly-done pose.

Jesse teaches the Wednesday evening class and the Sunday morning class.

Aimee Roberson
Aimee completed her yoga teacher training with the Living Yoga Program in Austin, Texas, and is registered with Yoga Alliance. She has studied primarily in the Ashtanga, Vinyasa Flow, Iyengar, and Kundalini styles, with Manju Pattabhi Jois, Doug Swenson, Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa, and many other wonderful teachers in the U.S. and Australia.

Aimee teaches the Tuesday and Thursday evening classes.
