Steve Anderson
Steve is a (semi) retired lawyer living South of Alpine. He has been practicing yoga regularly since 2006. He began his teacher training in “Pure” yoga in September of 2010 and will complete the program in 2011. For now, his classes will concentrate on core and strength work.

Before starting yoga, he practiced Aikido for a number of years - earning a brown belt before seriously dislocating his shoulder.

In addition to practicing yoga, Steve tends his grapes and orchard, has a weekly “literary” show on Marfa Public Radio, and writes.

Pam Cook
Substitute Teacher
Pam Cook has been teaching Yoga since 2000 and is registered with the Yoga Alliance. She has completed certification programs with the Living Yoga Program and Liz Franklin’s Yoga in Chairs. The latter program was designed for people living with MS, is endorsed by the National MS Foundation, and is also appropriate for people with any type of mobility limitations.

Pam has taught people of all ages and abilities including university students, athletes, pregnant women and people with limited mobility. She teaches a non-competitive style of Hatha Yoga that encourages students to follow their breath, listen to their bodies, and maintain a constant flow of energy through the poses.

Sara Kennedy-Mele
Pilates Mat Instructor
Sara recently moved to Alpine from Austin, where she was the Pilates Director at The Hills Health Club & Wellness Center in Westlake from 2003 – Oct 2010.  Fully certified (mat and equipment) in The Pilatesystem in 2002, Sara brings a wealth of information to her teaching from training with Pilates Elder Mary Bowen, Master Teachers Elizabeth Larkam, Collen Gleen, and others.  Before Pilates, Sara was the Middle School Athletic Director at St. Stephen’s School in Austin where she received Teacher of the Year and Who’s Who Among American Teachers.   After 25 years of athletics, Pilates changed her life and she wanted to give that gift to others.
